Saint Bris le Vineux is a little village in Burgundy, located 8km from Auxerre and 16km from Chablis. It is the most important municipality of Auxerre wine area but also the most traditional as there are traces of wine production since the 12th century.

In 1987, this is where Erick Lavallée established his Domaine. He named it Grand Roche after a lieu-dit around Saint Bris where he planted 10 hectares (24 acres) of vine. Today, he grows 22 hectares (55 acres) spread between Chablis and Auxerre vineyards.
